I've had these pieces of tiny furniture on my desk for a few weeks and every once in a while I add a layer of paint. Last weekRebecca suggested that I paint a surrogate to place the soap bathtubs on. My work this week is in large part a result of mulling over that idea, playing with the soft tones (not solid tones).
It's a work in progress. I am sitting at my desk in Wurster looking at the pictures I have posted to the blog and thinking about all the ways I could (should) make it better. I am critical that there is no real story, besides taking the tones from my painting two weeks ago. I went back to the word field for inspiration. (see definitions bellow)
1) take away the box, make it more open, pasture like 2) what is outside the window 3) more background 4) another chair for comparison 5) fake perspective, or forced perspective, close the box, scene only visible through a hole. 6) it's already embryonic enough 7) more math, maybe a grid, maybe taken from the carpet, topographic lines 8) it's already a complex of forces that serve as causative agents in human behaviors, i think 9) the carpet is already very sponge, saturate it, flood it, tiles grid, wet feet 10) more familiar
