RESTORE / Nourish / Feed

start with something you really like,

I often start design assignments by gathering inspiring images. This week I started with Matisse cutouts and through a series of great leaps only possible on the internet, ended up discovering Rauschenberg's combine paintings.

Pilgram 1960                                                           Winward, 1963
Combine: oil, graphite, paper, printed paper,          Combine: Oil and silkscreen on canvas
and fabric on canvas, with painted wood chair

It's really not fair to put my own works after all that really good stuff. This is where I am at right now, I wasn't planning to make it entirely on the computer, and still think it could benefit from a layer of manual manipulation (drawing, paint, crayons).

It wasn't my plan to make a collage about my grandmother, but in a way it makes sense. My grandmother, like many woman of her generation, is the embodiment of this weeks words.
